Football Passion took 4 teams to the Ramada International Cup organised by Can U Kick in Bangkok Thailand on 21 & 22 November 2009. It was a fantastic weekend of exciting football, competition, fun and enjoyment for all.
After a big breakfast on Saturday morning at the Sofitel Grand Centara Bangkok, we took our team buses to the fields. We started Saturday very strong with our teams either winning or losing narrowly. Saturday continued at full pace and with quality football from all 4 of our teams. The U12 & U8 teams qualified for the CUP competitions wheras the U10 & U14 narrowly lost out and went into the PLATE. A great day of football for all players and teams as we moved back to the hotel. Saturday evening was overshadowed by an unfortunate incident at the pool, that saw 1 of our key players from the U14 team rushed to hospital. He has since fully recovered but unfortunately missed the remainder of the tournament.
Unfortunately that set the tone for our Sunday games as our teams struggled to get into gear. There are a number of positives to be taken from the tournament - all our teams finished the tournament with a win in their last game. The U12 comfortably won the PLATE competition. Overall all players had a great weekend of football and more importantly learnt, developed and grew both as players on the field as well as individuals off the pitch. A huge success story, we plan to go another overseas tournament in May 2010, European Football Camp in July 2010 and back to the Bangkok tournament in Nov 2010...check the website for regular updates...

Barely one year after its creation, Football Passion has done its first international tournament abroad on the 15th & 16th November 2008. Indeed we sent 3 teams (U10, U12 & U14) to Bangkok to play in the Novotel International Cup.
Our 3 teams fought well and got a lot of experience eventhough they were all rather young in their age group. They learn how to play and live together during the 2 days of the tournament. They played against teams from all over Asia (Malaisia, Singapore, Thailand, Australia & Japan). Most of all they had fun on and out of the pitch, in the plane, the bus or in the hotel corridors!
The U12 did their best and played against very strong teams, unfortunatly their efforts were not rewarded by a good ranking. However Luke, their coach, was happy about the attitude of his team which never gave up. The U10 after a tough competition won the plate which is a great reward for their first international tournament. And so do the U14, after a first day rather difficult, they managed to win the plate during a very impressive second day.
As Tidjan (U14) said: "it's better to win the UEFA Cup than lose at the first stage of the Champions League!"
We (Football Passion managers) hope that the participants enjoyed this trip as much as we did and we thank all the players and parents for their support. Feel free to download pictures of the trip.
