2nd FCCS Futsal Tournament organised by Football Passion (16 Oct 2010)

The second edition of the French Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (FCCS) Futsal tournament was organised by Football Passion. From 9am to 2.30pm, more than 140 players representing 20 teams gathered at Fico Sports Hub to compete for the win. With a growing interest for the tournament this year, we upgraded the tournament to beautiful covered pitches and 5 a-side games all-day long. We are glad the French community rised to the challenge !

From 9am to 12pm, the 20 teams  went through the group stages. Divided into 4 groups of 5 teams, only the first and second teams of each group managed to pass to the next stage of the competition : the play-offs matches.

After the lunch break from 11.30am, play-offs matches began : quarter-finals, semi-finals, 3rd place match and final. Players were very determined into winning their games and some of them showed impressive football skills.  Still in a nice atmosphere, games became more intense and physical. At the end of the tournament, the teams were satisfied of their results and enjoyed this futsal tournament. Congratulations to all the players for their fair play and sportmanship !

FCCS Futsal Tournament organised by Football Passion (10 Oct 2009)

The first edition of the French Chamber of Commerce of Singapore Futsal tournament, was organized exclusively by Football Passion. It was a beautiful day of football played from 9:00am to 2:30pm. This tournament was created to have a chance for all the adult football fanatics in the French community to show off their skills with their respective companies against other French companies.

We managed to sign up 14 teams in this 5 aside tournament, where we played the group stages in the morning (divided in 2 groups) and playoffs matches in the afternoon (quarter –finals, semi, final, and 3rd place match). The venue was at the Singapore Khalsa Association, during the morning the games were played on the outdoor pitch divided into 4 small futsal pitches. The playoff matches in the afternoon were then played on the amazing synthetical facilities of Stadio futsal. Lunch and drinks were provided throughout the day and it was well appreciated by all participants who had lost lots of energy in the morning round-robin fixtures. Some very beautiful and competitive football was played throughout the day in those 15 minute long games, and surprisingly all the under-dogs went on to battle for the title in the semi-finals.

At the end of the day, everyone was exhausted after playing a minimum of 6 games and up to 9 games for the winners but happy and we all agreed that this was a solid base to build on and keep this new tradition alive for the years to come. Congratulations to the trophy and medal winners, Natixis, the winner of this first edition, SG FC, the runner-ups, and FRITALIA, the second runner-ups, but watch out for the second edition in early summer time in 2010!
