REAL MADRID & VALENCIA (15 - 24 July 2009)
We successfully completed our first overseas camp with 2 professional clubs in Spain - VALENCIA & one of the biggest clubs in the world REAL MADRID, where players such as Zidane, Beckham, Raul, Roberto Carlos, Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Kaka and many more have and continue to play some of the best football in the world. Our 15 kids (& some parents) had a wonderful experience, training with the professional youth coaches, playing friendly games against local teams and watching live games of the likes of Atletico Madrid:

We successfully completed our first overseas camp with 2 of the best professional football clubs in Spain, VALENCIA & REAL MADRID. Our 15 kids (& some parents) had a wonderful experience under the beautiful sun and heat of Spain. We had the unique opportunity to train with the professional youth coaches of both clubs at their professional facilities and they all learned a lot from it. Our players also had the great chance to test themselves and to get into some competitive action, show what they had learned, by playing 2 friendly games against local teams. They did manage to come home with a well fought 2-1 win over the team from Valencia! Congratulations boys and girls!
It was a great chance for them to gain some experience as both local teams played extremely quick one touch typical European football but we were up for the challenge! All of us also went to watch a live pre-season game Atletico Madrid vs. a third division team in Spain. It was really cool, we loved watching some live professional action and were lucky enough to see 2 goals as well, as well as Antoinio Reyes live on the pitch only 5 meters away...
On top of that we had a great tour guide who took us through three very historic cities at the heart of Spain starting with Madrid of course, large capital with many impressive architectural sights at every corner. This was followed by a journey to the very famous medieval city of Toledo, well-known for its production of iron swords. It is considered a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. In the past it played a crucial role in the history of Spain, being a real cultural melting pot between Jews, Christians, and Muslims whom all left a touch of their heritage, making it very unique!
After that, our 15 kids squad went to Valencia, the lively hot spot of Spain with that beautiful, long coastline. It was another great experience, with another city rich with culture! Of course we all tried the famous Spanish Paella, which originated from the region! In both Madrid and Valencia we visited the professional stadiums of both Liga teams, the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid (85 000 seats), and The Mestalla in Valencia (55 000 seats) which also allowed all the kids to see the comfort the players have to prepare and get ready for a game and recover as quickly as possible!
An amazing holiday and football experience for everyone involved parents and players. An exciting and well-organised 10 days of visits centered around football but with good leisure activities on the side! We are now looking forward to explore another top professional club in Europe next summer…!
As some said, they felt like they stepped in the shoes of some of the biggest names and legends of football!
